My small business, Jenni Robin Interior Design achieved remarkable success, completing a variety of projects that highlights my commitment to creativity, functionality, and client satisfaction. Furthermore, I was able to obtain my VBA registration which is something I am so thrilled to have. I truly believe being knowledgeable with the appropriate qualification is the best way to work in this industry, the stakes are high after all.
Whilst I have never been asked by a client if I am qualified or registered, being able to present with confidence was a major influence to gaining this final registration. And once the industry alters the rules, there will be a plethora of designers trying to obtain this registration. Hopefully I can assist those in need, I do enjoy providing mentorship.

Gainsborough Style Guide 2024/2025, via Hive
Return client, Gainsborough sought my assistance in producing their 2024/2025 Style Guide which is soon to be released. Working with the creative minds at Hive, we discuss a range of trends and design styles and how you may wish to utilise the Gainsborough product to achieve those looks. Keep a look out for the new style guide at your local Bunnings stores or online Gainsborough
“Design trends come and go, however, there are a few styles that will forever endure, whether building from new, renovating or altering furniture and décor specifications. Knowing the obvious and subtle differences along with the role door hardware plays, can assist in narrowing down your style preference, aiding in the decision-making process.’
Interior designers are required to have a registration with this government body if they are working on building projects worth more than $10,000 (inclusive of designer fees). I now can happily state I have obtained my registration of Building Designer Interior, meaning I can produce documentation and schedules for the above-mentioned projects without the requirement to separately engage a Building Designer (Draftsperson or Architect).
Outcome: Looking at mentoring designers who are seeking this registration, as it was a lengthy yet required task.
Completed over 50 projects
Such a thrill to have completed over 50 projects since my business opened its doors in 2019, this milestone reached in quarter 3 of 2024. It shows commitment to the industry in both commercial and private residential projects, with continued trust and support by my construction network. The aim is to provide best in class experience and outcomes for all my clients.
Testimonials:
“I had a great time working under Jenni throughout a month-long internship, she was exceptionally helpful and patient with me during the process. Jenni has exceptional skill and I would recommend her to anyone in need of an Interior Designer!” Alyssa Bird, Interior design graduate
“We engaged Jenni to help us select the final few pieces for our new home. When decision fatigue had well and truly kicked in, Jenni came through with her sound knowledge and flair for the finer details to source some really beautiful pieces that we wouldn't have otherwise considered. Jenni listened intently to the brief and provided multiple furniture and rug options at different price points. She was flexible with any feedback provided and considerate in her approach. We're so grateful to have had the support and expertise of Jenni in really getting the result we wanted for our home”. Casey Peel, client

Personally, my husband was made redundant after 17 long years. It has taught us to be grateful for what we have, love, support and a healthy little family of four. The family has enjoyed the start to summer with daddy around, and we shall be taking a break in January, heading for the bright lights of Tokyo, along with Osaka, Hakone and Kyoto. I am looking forward to soaking up Japan in all her glory.
My last day in the office (and attending sites) shall be 20th December as I then will be working intermittently and remotely until January 10th, after which I will be on leave without access to emails or phone until 26th January.
Wishing all my clients, suppliers, trades and readers a very Merry Christmas, a happy and safe new year.
